Like most of my writing, many of the selections
in PRAIRIE WIND, POEMS & STORIES are based on real people, places and situations. The West—its people and places—is featured
in this collection. There are also other themes: personal experiences, wildlife and humor (especially found in the collection
titled “Chronicles of the Sisters of the Mystic Night.”!)
"Norm Rourke writes from the heart in PRAIRIE WIND, he
has captured the rhythm of the prairie and the pulse of its people. Nature's ways and men's dreams hover in the verses.
A warm and wonderful book!" Jim Reed, author.
"When Norm Rourke writes poetry about the West, his words are
poignant and lyrical. His true love for the great American West shines through in all that he writes...His poetry is
uplifting--- a joy to read." M. J. Van Deventer, National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum.
